In relation to my last post on finding meaning, I found this article by Nina Burrowes, written for the Guardian Women in Leadership Network, resonated loudly. Above all, that authenticity isn't just about being honest and open. First you must be active in creating and building a genuine article. Who are you and what do you stand for? It takes going beyond conforming to what you think others want you to be and itmay tak the courage to step away from the immediate desire for approval, recognition and reward of the systems around you. But, she argues, and I would agree, being a good leader requires authenticy and the rewards are great.
