Some time ago, my inspirational and phenomenal sister sent me an article entitled Centred Leadership: how talented women thrive. It was written by three women who, interested in why there still exists such a dearth of women in leadership, have been researching what drives and sustains successful female learners. From their research, they developed a leadership model comprising of 5 broad and interrelated dimensions:
- Meaning - matching your strengths with a purpose that inspires you.
- Managing energy - knowing how to manage your physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual energy.
- Positive framing - adopting constructive ways of seeing the world and your experiences.
- Connecting - building networks within which you can grow and cultivate a sense of belonging.
- Engaging - taking risks, finding your voice and developing resilience.
